iphone-3gs“Buyers are finding that the device, introduced two weeks ago, has trouble making it through a workday without a rest stop at the electrical outlet. It’s proving to be something of an Achilles’ heel on Apple Inc.’s flagship device, more than 1 million of which were sold in the first weekend.” L.A. Times

Receiving less than stellar headlines on one of the world’s most widely circulated newspapers just weeks after the release of the iPhone 3GS likely isn’t something Apple expected to take place. Nonetheless, the multitude of battery issues plaguing the latest version of the iPhone has culminated in a recent L.A. Times story titled : iPhone 3GS Owners Bemoan It’s Battery Life.

While the L.A. Times is one of the larger publications raising the issues facing the 3GS battery; it wasn’t the first, and there’s a good chance it won’t be the last. Within days of the iPhone 3GS being released, reports of it’s lackluster battery performance quickly began making their way around the web. A battery that’s 15% smaller, an overload of applications, and AT&T’s slow deployment of more expensive 3G towers have all been cited as culprits of the iPhone 3GS sub-standard battery life. Whatever the case may be, the end result is the same: iPhone customers expect more bang for their buck when it comes to the battery life of the 3GS.

“If people are committing $1,000 a year for two years to use a 3GS, I would definitely expect my battery to last a lot longer.” Gary Ng, iPhoneinCanada.com

So what now? Are you one of the many 3GS owners who are wondering what to do in regards to it’s struggling battery? It will definitely be interesting to see how Apple goes about resolving this issue. In the meantime, there are alternative methods for getting more out of your iPhone 3GS. There’s nothing worse than constantly having to hunt down an outlet just so you can stay connected, and in today’s world, staying connected is of the utmost importance.

Now I know what the ‘S’ stands for on my now 2nd iPhone 3Gs in 10 days… It stands for SUCKING, maybe it’s S`U`C`K`S, like that giant sucking sound I’ve experienced after having the now 2nd phone plugged in for 8 hours from the wall charger, taking it off and… with NO WIFI, NO EMAIL, LOCATION SERVICES or APP PUSH on and screen set at half brightness w/Auto Brightness turned this thing sucked over 50 percent of battery power in approx. 3 hours… and I wasn’t even on
the phone AT ALL!!!! And that’s after Apple iPhone Tech ‘Experts’ helped me set up the new phone as a new phone, etc. then reload my apps, and oh yeah, they forgot to tell me to back up my contacts. ARRGGHH!!!

Can you say Class Action? Can you say Beta Tester? I knew you could. So, if this were a defibrilator or a pacemaker, there’d be a lot of dead bodies right now. THIS IS WRONG. I’ve wasted at least 8hrs on this issue and I have a business to run and family to support… and I bought the phone
outright so I would’t be a 2 year indentured servant to ATT. So, I’ll give Apple 1 more chance to get it right. If not, BACK IT GOES!!! I’m a 25+ year user of Mac stuff (17″ MacBook Pro 2.6Ghz, LED High rez blah blah blah, Quad Core Xeon yada yada yada.)

APPLE, Wake Up And Smell the millamphours, and your brand name and consumer confidence draining, fleeing, from your bottom line~!

    WTF?

negatively discharged & deeply disappointed in iPhone land I am,

    iRemain,

    ken
