New and Affordable…but Long-Lasting? Asus Eee PC 1201N Battery Life Results
With the new Asus Eee PC 1201N just weeks away from its release, reviews and test results are already being posted by those who have gotten their hands on the new Asus notebook.
Carrying an estimated release price in the $650 range, the the dual-core ION-powered Eee PC 1201N is being targeted as a great ‘bridge’ device between netbooks and ultra-thin devices. As far as battery lifegoes, Asus appears to have done quite well in this regard.
Blogeee found that the battery lasted a respectable four hours and forty-three minutes with Wi-Fi on and the display set to 100 percent brightness. Noti did a similar test but ran a looped HD video and managed to get just two hours and forty-five minutes out of the battery. This is a particular stressful test though and isn’t really representative of likely day-today use. (Netbook Choice)
While the HD video feature on the new Asus notebook took a quick toll on the 6-Cell 63Wh Li-ion Battery, that’s typically the case with most notebooks and will unlikely be looked upon as a glaring deficiency for the Eee PC 1201N.
